Askham Hall//Lake District//Spring Styled Shoot
It may be the middle of winter, but many of you will be looking forward to your weddings in 2017 and 2018. A shoot with the first inkling of Spring, because well, who doesn’t miss a splash of colour? A flower-fairy inspired shoot, featuring a woodland, mossy green (Were we ahead of the Pantone ‘Greenery’ fashion?) and a fun, bright evening look based around hot pink.
This was the first shoot Nina Marika was involved with, and we were excited to see her use of wallpaper throughout the shoot, including this ‘tin tile’ paper as a runner on this stunning banquet table. And this traditional paper as a backdrop.
Askham Hall is a small, but perfectly formed hotel, set in the grounds of Lowther Castle. There is a delightful mix of old-meets new, with grand staircases, formal gardens and an outdoor pool. Your wedding can take place in the house or the barn, or you can have a mix of the two, allowing for the distinct styles shown.
Based close to Penrith, Askham Hall is a wedding venue off the beaten path, in a secluded part of the Lake District. The barn is one of the best conversions we have seen – rustic, but far from ramshackle. The stone walls and wooden flooring lend themselves to most styles, including the bright pink theme we chose.
Thanks to Tiree Dawson Photography, Valerie Ann Florist, Aimee Chorley Make up , Katie Simpson Hair, Nina Marika, Legend Bridal and Askham Hall for contributing to this stunning shoot. Also, Summer, Farrah, Betty, Sophie and Sadie for being amazing models.
