Red Floral Christmas Shoot//Winter Wedding Inspiration//Northern Stars
When you get a message from Mat at Red Floral Architecture to say he’s planning his Christmas shoot and he wants you to be involved, you KNOW it’s going to be a riot. Forget wistful brides dreamily staring into the sunset. Forget snowy scenes and hot chocolate stations. In fact, forget all that you know about photo shoots and weddings and prepare yourself for a whole new kind of winter wedding shoot.
Alongside some of the North Wests most exciting suppliers, in a warehouse in Cheshire an magical animal inspired winter wonderland was created. With stunning dresses from Knutsford Wedding Gallery, imaginative hair and make up from Flossy and Leigh and accessories – including an incredible star crown – from Ann at Eleventh Heaven the scene was set for a very Red-style Christmas.
We never really know what will be required for a shoot, so we took a number of options on this occasion. Festoon lighting was strung up amongst the magpies to compliment the original design. Edison bulbs were suspended from upside down Christmas trees, hanging from the ceiling.
White fairy lights made for a brilliant alternative to a standard starlit backdrop – adding a more industrial look. And our tiny copper lighting was entwined amongst Whitehouse Crockery’s stunning place settings and The Frostery’s incredible cake. We loved the opportunity to show how flexible our lighting can be, and how it can add to your occasion.
Hopefully, although totally fantastical, this shoot will have inspired you to be brave with your choices. All the elements of a wedding set up are here, but presented in a way you probably haven’t seen before. Weddings should be a reflection of you as a couple, not a carbon copy of something you have found on Pinterest. And – if you find the very best suppliers – you can trust them to take your ideas and turn them into your dream wedding. Remember, it’s your day, your way.
Here’s to flamingos, polar bears, zebras, giraffes, peacocks and tigers all making appearances at 2017 weddings.
